About us
We’re Evie and Lucy—two best friends who grew up together, shared a love for coffee shops, and one day decided to open our own.
In late 2023, after years working in hospitality, drama teaching, and digital marketing, we both hit that point where we thought, “Why not just go for it?” So we did. We left our jobs, bought an old café on Bangor’s High Street, and spent Christmas scrubbing, painting, and dreaming big. A few whirlwind weeks later, Ginger + Berry opened its doors in January 2024.
We wanted to create the kind of place we’d love to go to ourselves—laid-back, friendly, a little bit quirky, and full of great coffee, proper food, and homemade treats. We also love dogs (and know you do too), so they’re always welcome here.
Since opening, we’ve hosted sell-out themed dinners, built a lovely bunch of regulars, and partnered with amazing local makers and suppliers. Every day, we feel lucky to do what we do—and to do it together.
Ginger + Berry is more than just a café to us. It’s our dream come true, and we’re so glad to share it with you.
